Holiday Leftovers

How To Deal With Leftovers?

  • When food sits at room temperature, bacteria that can make people sick can grow quickly
  • After the meal, quickly cool food and store at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Cool foods on counter or in an ice bath before storing in the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Perishable foods, such as those containing animal products, cooked vegetables, and grains, should be tossed or composted after four hours at room temperature
