Don’t pack on the holiday pounds, check out these tips for staying healthy and fit during the holiday season!

)Get Moving: Avoid sitting for prolonged periods. Get up for 5 minutes every 30-60 minutes. This reduces risk of diabetes and heart disease.

)Stay Hydrated: Your brain can confuse thirst with hunger. Drink the recommended 6-8 glasses of water a day.

)Indulge for a night not a season: It’s okay to indulge, but don’t overdue it. Try to avoid allowing treats to linger after the party is over.

)Take Time:  Take time for yourself! Stress has shown to increase during the holiday season, and that often leads to consuming extra comfort foods. If you feel stress, go for a walk or try some deep breathing.

)Exercise: If you can, exercise early in the day so you don’t get distracted by the endless to do list. Or incorporate exercise into your party by playing games with movement.
